Coming from Singapore, where we don’t have the four seasons, we didn’t know that Easter actually marks the beginning of Spring. We never knew the significance of Easter (and the bunnies) to non-Christians and never immersed ourselves in the whole Easter festivities, besides attending church and celebrating the resurrection of Christ.
Even though everybody here tells us that the past Winter was very mild compared to the years before, it was still pretty cold for us. And though we could stare at snowfall for a long, long time, we were so happy when Spring arrived. Spring was also the time we discovered the flora and fauna around us.
Back in Singapore, Mama didn’t like us playing with playdoh. She says we make too much mess and we love mixing all the colours together. See2 was also at the “putting everything into his mouth” age, and it was easier to forbid both of us from playing rather than letting See1 play in secret.
When Mama broke the news of our move to the US, she said that we will be moving to the land of Playdohs and Legos. We couldn’t be more excited. In fact, we asked for the Playdoh set we brought from Singapore, within days of arriving.
In Jan 2017, we flew into the US with Mama and Grandma to meet up with Papa who arrived 2 weeks earlier. We were pretty good on the 24 hour flight journey and each slept 7 hours straight. But we heard Mama hardly slept. Perhaps it was b’cos See1 only fell asleep after See2 woke up.

So I kinda went missing on social media over the NYE/ New Year’s Day celebrations. If we are friends on FB, you’ll know that See2 got admitted to the hospital at 2am on NYE. He suffered a febrile seizure due to a spike in his fever and because of his age, we were told to stay on for observations.

Yesterday we experienced the longest minute and the biggest shock of our lives. For one whole minute, See1 lost control of his body. His back was arched backwards, limbs were stiffened and eyes rolled upwards. He was convulsing. During that minute he was also choking and nothing we did would bring him back to his consciousness.
